STAR Chapter 123 is the San Diego chapter of STAR Touring and Riding Association. We are more than a group of motorcycle enthusiasts who get together regularly for some of the best rides around. We are family. Police officers, active and retired military, salespeople, fire fighters, teachers, business owners, mothers, fathers, nurses, legal assistants, office administrators, and more – whatever the differences in our backgrounds and “day jobs” we come together as one family, united in our passion for safe riding in a supportive and fun environment. No egos, no cliques – we are one family of riders – Chapter 123. And we are all about safe riding and having a good time.

Originally founded as an owner’s group for Yamaha’s Star line of cruisers, we are open to all brands of bikes. Some of our members ride Harleys, Hondas, BMWs and other brands. As long as they share our passion for safe riding and making every ride a good time they are welcome to ride with us.

Our chapter is proud to be supported by and ride out of North County Yamaha in San Marcos, CA.  at 2333 Montiel Road, San Marcos, CA. 

Chapter rides are the second Saturday of every month, leaving from North County Yamaha, with kick stands up at 9am sharp. If you plan to join us, be there at least 45 minutes early to sign a ride waiver and get to know your shepherd who will accompany you on your first ride. 

In addition to regular chapter rides, our members organize a number of overnight trips and special events throughout the year, including our annual support of the Officer Down Ride in Escondido, honoring fallen police officers. We participate in the annual Escondido Police Department’s Holiday Toy Run with toy donations provided by Grade 3 classes at E.B. Scripps Elementary School. Members on their bikes head to the school to gather the gifts the children have collected – giving the kids a chance to meet some friendly biker folk in person.

Our members include passengers too, many of whom have no desire to ride their own bikes, but are a huge and important part of our family. We ride safe, strong, clean, and sober. We always respect the rules of the road. We take rest stops and find some of the best places around for lunch and good conversation. The sound of our engines, the feel of the tires on the road, the camaraderie of all the friends riding with you, the next twisty turn ahead – that’s what it’s all about to ride with STAR Chapter 123.
